How we uncovered the forgotten truth about our oral microbiome.

Hey, I'm Katherine (co-founder of Super Teeth).

Believe it or not, my husband, Cameron, and I never planned on starting a holistic oral care company (especially with three littles at home).

We did so out of necessity. Because after having children, my oral health went downhill fast-and nothing seemed to help. Despite daily brushing and flossing, I was bringing new cavities to every dentist appointment. Fluoride was no longer cutting it, and the more 'natural' options did nothing for my teeth. I knew my body was trying to tell me something, but I just couldn't make sense of it. I felt frustrated and desperate for a solution. Ready to throw up my hands, I had a lightbulb moment.

I had recently learned about the vital role of bacteria in the gut after dealing with an infection called Clostridium Difficile. A round of antibiotics I took shortly after giving birth had completely destroyed my digestive system.

Why did this happen? Our microbiome is made up of trillions of microscopic bugs that impact our health—for better or worse.
